Terra Media is a multi-sensory mixed reality installation that invites children and families into a poetically designed media environment, where fairy tale motifs meet contemporary media art. Developed by the artist duo MulticArts (Pola Rader & Eugenia Bakurin), the project explores timeless human experiences such as forgiveness, transformation, and letting go – interpreted through the lens of modern technology and participatory storytelling.
The installation unfolds across two interactive rooms, each immersing visitors in a responsive, magical world:
In one room, children enter an enchanted forest, where they can interact with a talking mirror, summon or repel a mythical Firebird through body movement, and draw on a magic table, with their creations dynamically projected onto surfaces within the room.
The second space focuses on sensorial interaction through music and touch. Projected elements react to the participants’ gestures and movements, triggering soundscapes and visual transformations in real time. The result is a meditative, playful experience that merges art, play, and self-reflection.
Since 2021, Terra Media has been in artistic and technical development, supported by the MOIN Film Fund Hamburg Schleswig-Holstein through idea, concept, and prototype phases. Further development is planned in collaboration with partners from the fields of media art, education, and XR technology.
